From Insight to Intentional Action: Moving Beyond Autopilot
On October 6, I’ll be presenting an Institute of Coaching webinar on a question at the heart of my coaching work: How do we help people move beyond insight and good intentions to greater agency and intentional action?
Insight doesn’t always lead to change.
We can understand exactly what we need to do differently and genuinely intend to do it, yet still find ourselves slipping back into familiar patterns.
I see this in myself and in my coaching.
We might recognize that we need to listen more, delegate more, speak up, set better boundaries, or respond differently under pressure. We know what we want to change. We may even know why.
And yet, in the moment, we revert to what is familiar.
The challenge isn’t necessarily a lack of insight or motivation. It’s that our automatic habits and reactions are powerful. Awareness is important, but awareness alone doesn’t always change what we do.
So how do we move from knowing to doing? From autopilot to greater agency and intentional action?
That question is at the heart of my work and of the CORE Framework: Clarify, Operationalize, Reflect, Evaluate.
CORE provides a process for moving beyond insight. We clarify what matters and who we want to become. We translate those insights into intentional behaviors. We reflect on the patterns that may be getting in our way. And we evaluate the gap between our intentions and our impact.
Institute of Coaching Webinar: Beyond Insight: Coaching Clients from Autopilot to Agency
On October 6, from 12–1pm ET, I’ll be sharing these ideas in a live webinar with the Institute of Coaching.
I’ll explore how I use the CORE Framework in my coaching to help clients move from insight to intentional action and develop a repeatable practice for becoming more intentional about how they think, choose, and act.
If you’re looking for practical ways to create change for yourself, your clients, or your team, I hope you’ll join me.
And importantly, you do not need to be an Institute of Coaching member to attend. The webinar is free for IOC members and $25 for non-members.

I’d love to see you there.
